In Pai’s words

My name is Sophay Duch, but please feel free to call me Pai. I'm a Khmer-American, first-generation immigrant, born in Battambang, Cambodia, and raised in Echo Park, Los Angeles. My family are genocide survivors who left our homeland in search of safety, and we were welcomed by a warm, multicultural community in L.A. I was deeply nourished by my Latino família, the Duartes, and my Southeast Asian peers, all of whom have profoundly shaped my values, sense of purpose, and how I practice therapy.
I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW California #99584, Oregon #L15816) with a Master of Social Work from the University of Southern California, and I hold a certificate from the UC Berkeley Psychedelic Facilitation Certificate Program. My focus has always been on helping others during vulnerable times, beginning my career as a Medical Social Worker supporting older adults and their families through end-of-life transitions. I continue to do my own healing work, which deeply informs how I guide and support my clients.
As a somatic trauma psychotherapist, I integrate Cambodian healing traditions into my practice, creating a holistic and culturally sensitive approach to mental health care. I believe in each person's innate capacity to heal and help people step into that process in a way that feels authentic and meaningful.
