Growing up in the Mountain West, I first became interested in wild plants as foods and medicine while on a 10-day backpacking trip in the Tetons when I was 15 years old. My food supply became depleted on this trip, leading me to supplement my diet with wild edible plants. From this experience, I realized first-hand that food and medicine haven't always come from grocery stores or pharmacies and that the Earth has been providing for us for millennia. This realization became the seed of a life-long passion and appreciation for natural medicine.
